Welcome to the Northern Moore Family Resource Center (NMFRC) website. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization serving children and families in northern Moore County, North Carolina. The organization was established in 1996, and has been serving children and families ever since. We offer, among other things, a six-week free summer day camp, which is partially funded by the United Way. We are an agency of the United Way of Moore County.
The Northern Moore Family Resource Center is dedicated to improving and supporting lives of residents living in northern Moore County. Over 90% of the children who attend Robbins Elementary School are living in poverty, as evidenced by their qualifying for reduced or free lunch. Additionally, less than 50% of students are reading at grade level. Research tells us that children who are not performing at grade level by third grade are at much greater risk of dropping out of school before graduating from high school. High School dropouts are far more likely to be dependent on taxpayer dollars (either through social programs or incarceration) than their peers who graduate. The most important thing that we can do for children living in poverty is to provide them with the support they need to succeed academically—support they often do not receive at home. Our society, as a whole, benefits from educating all of our children to be successful in life. Please assist us in helping the children and families we serve. All donations are tax deductible.
